Bio of Jim Frazier
Jim
Frazier is president of Take
Charge Seminars. Since 1998, he has lead seminars and workshops on sales
and use taxes as well as payroll and wage and
hour law, a, and accounting for
non-financial managers and other topics.
Mr. Frazier has been
in accounting and financial management positions for a wide variety
of industries, including retail, manufacturing, medical, and service
organizations.
He has also been
involved in information technology, serving in sales and consulting
positions with software companies and consulting firms. Jim
Frazier has directed multiple consulting projects ranging from county
governments to large companies to entrepreneurial businesses. He
has spent his entire career designing, managing and implementing
accounting, database, network, and other complex systems.
He is the author of
many reports and articles. He has been a frequent contributor to Internet
forums on business and technology issues. He was executive
producer and moderator of EgadsTV, the television show on computers and
the Internet. He
current writes "The Sales Tax Guy" blog, which he guesses
is the only sales tax blog in the world.
Jim Frazier is a
popular and enthusiastic speaker to both technical and non-technical audiences about
taxes and accounting. For the last few years, he has also been presenting
technical workshops for National
Seminars Group and Padgett-Thompson.
He is a past member of the board of the Batavia Community Chest/United
Way, and a former president of the DuPage
Birding Club.
Jim
Frazier graduated from DePaul University and passed the CPA exam (much
to his surprise) on the first attempt in 1975. He lives in Batavia, a
really far western suburb of Chicago. Take
